Located within the historic boundaries of Monmouthshire lies the town of Newbridge. (Welsh: Trecelyn, which means the town of the holly trees.)

Newbridge is a former mining village with an excellent schooling for all ages with a number of new developments being built in the last couple of years together with opening of a railway station giving good access to Cardiff City.

Newbridge is well served with a variety of individual shops, café, hotels, newly built pub and restaurants together with the famous, Newbridge memorial hall feature on the BBC restoration program.

Surrounding sites and attractions to see include the Blaenoavon 'Big Pit' Museum, Cwmcarn Scenic Drive, Pen-y-fan Country Park, Caerleon Roman Fortress and Brecon Beacons National Park.
